Logitech wireless keyboards are compatible with a wide variety of computers. Many of the keyboards come packaged with a wireless Logitech mouse as well. The installation process for the two is the same. Installing certain wireless keyboard models will require the Logitech Unifying receiver, which allows you to connect up to six Logitech devices to your computer with a single USB receiver. The receiver comes with your keyboard, or you can purchase it separately.

Step 1

Turn off your computer. Do not insert the batteries into the keyboard yet.

Step 2

Insert the Unifying receiver into an available USB port on your laptop. For desktops, use the USB adapter if your USB ports are on the back of your computer tower. Insert the Unifying receiver into the USB adapter. For Logitech wireless keyboards with a PS/2 adapter and cable, insert the connection cable with the PS/2 adapter attached into the PS/2 port on the back of your desktop tower. Place the wireless receiver at least eight inches away from any electrical devices. Note that these keyboard models do not use the Unifying receiver.

Step 3

Turn on your computer. Complete the next two steps within 10 minutes in order to trigger the automatic detection feature for your system.
